Serafina Amoroso is an architect (Università degli Studi di Firenze, 2001), PhD in Architectural and Urban Design (Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, 2006), MA in Advanced Architectural Design (ETSAM, Madrid, 2012), MA in Applied Research in Feminist, Gender and Citizenship Studies (Jaume I University, Castellón de la Plana, 2016).
From 2007 to 2019, she has worked as an adjunct professor in Architectural Design Studios at the School of Architecture of Florence (Italy). In 2014, she was selected to participate in the Visiting Teachers’ Program at the AA (Architectural Association School of Architecture).
She is currently working as a Lecturer in Architectural Design at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain).
She has participated in different international forums, panel discussions, workshops, conferences, and seminars focused on the relationships between gender and architecture, feminism and urban planning, care and education.
Her research findings and interests have been further developed and disseminated through the co-organization of MORE.3rd International Conference on Gender and Architecture (Florence, 2017) and through her participation as a member of the work team in the I+D project entitled “WOMEN IN SPANISH (POST)MODERN ARCHITECTURE CULTURE, 1975-2000” (code PGC2018-095905-A-100).
