Lia Gil Antunes

Architect and researcher (dARQ-UCoimbra & CIEG / ISCSP-ULisboa), she has been working on the history of architecture and the construction of houses, cities and territories with a gender perspective, based on intersectional feminisms. She is currently a doctoral student at dARQ-UC, on As Mulheres do Processo SAAL (1974-1976) em Portugal: Arquitetas e moradoras pelo direito à habitação [Women in the SAAL Process (1974-1976) in Portugal: Women architects and residents for the right to housing] (FCT). Collaborating researcher at CIEG-ISCSP/ULisboa, in which she was part of the project “W@ARCH.PT Women Architects in Portugal” (2018-2021) and co-organized the ICAG 2021. Within the scope of the Mulheres na Arquitetura association, of which she is a co-founder, she has organized and lectured at various events, including the short course Terra como Casa. Ecofeminismos e espaço [Earth as Home. Ecofeminisms and space] (2022-2023), an independent project of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2022 (DGArtes and CIG), putting climate crisis and gender together. In architectural practice, she worked on the design of houses, museums and exhibitions, in her own name, with Recetas Urbanas and Formas Efémeras.
