María Carreiro

María Carreiro (Ourense, 1961) holds a PhD in Architecture from the Universidade da Coruña, UDC. She teaches Architectural Projects at the ETS of Architecture of the UDC. She is a member of the GAUS group, Grupo de Arquitectura y Urbanismo Sostenible. Since 1989, she has worked as an associate architect in the professional office mccl arquitectos. Author and editor of several books and articles, as well as speaker at different congresses, symposiums and conferences. She writes opinion articles for the daily press on current issues related to architecture, urban planning and/or gender. Her books include El pliegue complejo. La escalera and Siete escaleras, siete casas; or in collaboration with Cándido López: Milagros Rey Hombre, 1930-2014. Memorias y Proyectos de una arquitecta pionera. She has participated as author and editor in other publications such as Arquitectas pioneras de Galicia. Ocho entrevistas, Entre-lugares: las fronteras domésticas, or La casa.
